Throughout his line of work, Dr. Wisch has given lectures and has authored professional articles on topics related to hand surgery. Douglas C. Wisch, MD, attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, NJ, and received his medical degree in 1986. Furthermore, he conducted his general surgery internship (1986 – 1988) and orthopedic surgery residency (1988 – 1992) at the same educational venue. During his residency, he served as chief resident and clinical assistant instructor. In addition, he completed fellowship training in hand surgery at SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital & Medical Center in Stony brook, NY (1992 – 1993). Dr. Wisch received board certification in orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Connecticut Medical Society, the Connecticut Orthopedic Society, the Ethics and Professionalism Committee, the Litchfield County Medical Association, the New England Hand Society, the New England Shoulder and Elbow Society, and the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand.
